How to Apply for a Library Card

 


To borrow library materials you will need a library card. Your first card is issued free; a replacement card is $2.00.


How to Apply
Come into your local Tulare County branch library to register for a library card. In order to register you must provide a photo ID. Groups of 5 or more persons wishing to apply for cards at the same time at the Visalia Branch must call ahead so that staffing accommodations can be made to lessen patron wait times at the circulation desk.


Please note:
Parents or legal guardian identification is required for juvenile’s registration. The juvenile must be present to receive a card.


Preferred Photo Identification:
• California Driver's License
• Out of State License is also acceptable
• California Identification Card
• Government Issued ID Card
• Current Passport
• School Identification Card


Please note:
If your current address is not on your photo ID, please bring in one item to verify your current address. A list of acceptable items are provided below.


Items to Verify Address:
• California Driver’s License
• California Identification Card
• Recent utility bill
• Mail with recent USPS postmark
• Vehicle registration or proof of insurance
• Imprinted checkbook
• Current rental / lease agreement
