The Friends of the Tulare County Library is an association for people who love libraries, reading, books, volunteering, and raising money to enhance public library services. Now, more than ever, your library needs your help. A well-stocked library is a basic necessity in any community. Help us grow. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 7 pm in the Employee Lounge on the second floor at the Visalia Main Branch. Everyone is welcome.

The Friends of the Tulare County Library assist the library in enriching this community.

• We raise funds to buy books and equipment for the county libraries;
• We provide volunteer assistance for library programs and services;
• We hold used book sales and other fundraisers;
• We sponsor programs for children (such as the Summer Reading program) and adults.

The Mystery Book Group, sponsored by the Friends of the Tulare County Library, meets the third Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm at Borders. We celebrate our 7th anniversary in October.

Money from the Friends' book sales sponsors the summer reading programs in all branches, and is used to pay for books, programs, and major items, such as the new microfilm reader/printer.
